1:1 Online GCSE Maths Mentoring · AQA · Edexcel
1:1 online sessions, as often as suits you, built around your target grade and the specific things tripping you up — not a generic scheme of work. Start with a free 30-minute call, no obligation.
Not another worksheet pack. Sessions are structured around what you're covering in school and the exams ahead — with real focus on the topics that are actually costing you marks.
Sessions include content from AQA or Edexcel's actual specification, with a focus on answering questions similar to those on exam papers — not a generic curriculum. Foundation and Higher tier, both covered.
The intro call maps what's solid and what's shaky. This will help us build a plan of action, so time goes on the topics that are actually losing you marks.
A lot of GCSE maths is knowing you can start a question under pressure. Sessions build the confidence to pick up marks where you can — even when you're not sure of the full method.
A relaxed video call to talk through how sessions will be structured, your current target grade, and what's been hardest so far. Parents are very welcome to join. No cost, no obligation.
Based on the call, sessions include content from the AQA/Edexcel syllabus, focused on what will move your grade fastest.
Worked examples, past-paper questions, and a clear "what to practice before next time" at the end of every session — by video call, wherever you are.
Both boards cover the same core GCSE Maths content — number, algebra, geometry, ratio & proportion, statistics and probability. The real difference is in how questions are asked.
Simple, transparent pricing — plus a discounted package once you're both sure it's the right fit.

Hi, I'm Charlie — the person behind The GCSE Maths Mentor. I'm currently taking a gap year, holding an offer to study at a top Russell Group university, having achieved A*A*A*A at A-Level (Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Economics and Physics) plus an A* in the EPQ.
As part of a college initiative, I mentored A-Level maths students across both Years 12 and 13 alongside my studies — and I'm bringing that same 1:1 approach to GCSE mentoring, entirely online. Every student has to take GCSE maths, whether they like it or not, and I'm here to help you work towards achieving your best grade.
AQA and Edexcel, both Foundation and Higher tier. Tell me which one at the intro call and sessions will include content from that specification.
A relaxed 30-minute video call to talk through the exam board, current grade, target grade, and what's felt hardest so far. Parents are welcome to join. There's no obligation to book further sessions afterwards.
Zoom, a stable internet connection, a calculator, and either a compatible stylus or a digital writing pad — whichever you prefer — for working through questions live on Zoom's whiteboard. Nothing needs to be sent or printed in advance. A webcam is welcome and helps sessions feel more personal, but it's not essential — the whiteboard and audio are what the session runs on.
Not currently — every session is 1:1, so time goes entirely on your gaps rather than being split across a group.
Sessions are booked and paid for via Calendly. A full refund is available with at least 48 hours' notice; inside 48 hours, the session can be rescheduled rather than refunded.
I hold a Basic DBS check. All contact goes through the parent's or guardian's email, and sessions only ever take place over Zoom, unless a different arrangement is mutually agreed between parents/guardians and me. Sessions are not recorded. Parents are welcome to join the free intro call and any session on request.
